History of JSECE

The Japan Society of Erosion Control Engineering made a new start as a public interest incorporated association in April 2013.
The purpose of the JSECE is to promote the advancement of erosion control engineering, development of sabo activities, and improvement of the capability of sabo engineers, thereby contributing to conservation of national land, safety of people’s live, promotion of academic culture, and growth of society.

1948

New Sabo Publication Association, formed mainly by staff of the Laboratory of Erosion Control, Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University started publishing the new JSECE journal named New Sabo

Association renamed the Sabo Academic Association

1951

Japan Society of Erosion Control Engineering established

1953

Number of members exceeded 1,000 and annual conference now held annually

1988

The Japan Society of Erosion Control Engineering established as an incorporated association

1998

50th anniversary of foundation

Held symposium in commemoration of 50th anniversary

2008

Published an English version of the journal; International Journal of Erosion Control Engineering

2013

Became a public interest incorporated association

2018
